ABOUT MY WORK
PAINTINGS: Vimala started painting late in life. She toyed with the idea over the years, but found ways to not let this creativity out. With the ecouragement of a few intuitive friends, that all began to change. Her first attempts brought a great sense of freedom and connection to Spirit she had never felt before. The Invisible showed itself in small glimpses on each little canvas. While she loves the results of these efforts, she also sees that they are meant to be shared. PHOTOGRAPHY: Vimala started shooting photos as artwork soon after she received her first pocket digital camera in April of 2006. She notes the impression it made on her when her sister Cass, who gave her the camera, told her, "People take classes to learn how to do what you do. You do it naturally." Vimala shot hundreds of photos with that camera, developing an eye for interesting subjects and a simple yet intriguing style. In time, a special friend of the artist, who saw her potentilal and the limitations of her equipment, set her up with the Canon Rebel xTi/400D with which the bulk of her photos have been taken.
